Ah my legions of blog followers, you might have been wondering what has been up with the lack of blog updates? Well, my kitchen is what is up. I moved into a new house but the new house's kitchen was crap. Crap full of crappy crap crapitude. OLD electric stove in which the burners aren't even level. Old refrigerator that will allow foods to get warm and then freeze them solid. Cabinets with flaking off wood paneling. Ugly. Sad. This is unacceptable for foodies like myself and my husband so we are doing a total kitchen remodel. Yup. Total. New floor, appliances, cabinets, counter tops. You name it, it's getting replaced. Here are the 'before' pictures of the kitchen. 
The dishwasher didn't work. There is no garbage disposal. There's this weird desk thing featured in the picture to the right. In a kitchen this size, why oh why have a built in desk??? The back splash is a cream colored square tile...or maybe it's just dirty.
So what's the plan?
White shaker style cabinets
granite counter tops
a white farm sink
awesome gas stove
good side by side refrigerator
garbage disposal
new dishwasher
black wood slate floors
It's gonna be sweeeeeeeet. This weekend is the big demo of the current nasty cabinets and floors. The new floor is going to be installed early next week and then the cabinets and then the appliances. Can't wait!!! Stay tuned for the results.
